Gunmen Demand N500m Ransom for Ondo Farm Manager

Afolabi Ajayi, the manager of a poultry farm, was kidnapped on Monday in Akur North Local Government Area, Ondo State. The incident occurred around 10:30 AM when gunmen, who were hiding in nearby bushes, ambushed him as he checked on workers at the farm.

The kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N500 million for Ajayi's release, as communicated to his family through a call. Sources indicate that the family is troubled and uncertain about how to gather such a significant amount of money.

Efforts are ongoing to negotiate a downward review of the ransom. The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Abayomi Jimoh, stated that the command was not aware of the latest developments but urged anyone with credible information to assist in the ongoing manhunt for the perpetrators and the rescue of Ajayi, who remains unhurt.
