Pastor's Wife Still Captive After N20M Ransom Paid

Sundai Omol, a pastor at Evangel Church West Africa in Omugo, Irepodun Local Government Area, Kwara State, revealed that his wife is still being held by kidnappers despite a ransom payment of N20 million. The kidnappers have reportedly demanded an additional N300 million.

Omol stated that the ransom payment included food items and petrol, and he expressed frustration over the lack of progress in securing his wife's release. He criticized the government's response, noting that security forces, including 10 police officers, were deployed to the area but have not effectively addressed the ongoing kidnappings.

Omol's wife was abducted on March 22, 2026, during a church service, along with several other congregants. This incident marks the third major attack in the Omugo community within six months, exacerbating the insecurity that has forced residents to flee their homes.
