Bandits Kill Village Head and Son in Sokoto Attack

On an unspecified date, bandits attacked Kulodo Kwanc Village in Sokoto, resulting in the deaths of the village head, Rufa Bala, his eldest son, Muhammad Sanusi, and others. The assailants, arriving on motorcycles, opened fire indiscriminately, killing four residents and stealing livestock.

The attack caused panic, forcing women and children to flee the community. Local herders reported that the stolen cattle were taken into the forest in Zamfara State.

Following this incident, a protest occurred in Bodinga Local Government Area, where residents blocked the Sokoto-Jega highway to express their frustration over persistent bandit attacks. The protest began around 8:00 AM and lasted several hours, disrupting traffic.

Local officials, including the Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Hon. Tukur Bala, visited the affected communities to offer condolences.

The Sokoto State Police Command did not respond to requests for comments regarding the situation.
