TCN Transfers Temporary Control Center to NISO in Abuja

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has officially handed over a temporary control center to the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) located in Gwagwalada, Abuja, as part of efforts to improve the management and reliability of Nigeria's electricity grid. The handover was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by TCN's General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah.

The facility, which will serve as NISO's temporary operational base until the completion of a permanent national control center, was handed over on June 30. TCN's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Sule Abdulaziz, described this project as a significant milestone in strengthening Nigeria's electricity transmission infrastructure.

Amini Tahir Abdulaziz, the General Manager of the project, noted that the completion of this facility marks the beginning of a new phase in national grid management. The temporary base will allow NISO to oversee grid operations efficiently until the permanent center becomes operational.

NISO's management, represented by Abdu Moham Bello, emphasized the importance of this handover for improving grid management and service delivery in Nigeria.
