Bauchi State Government Distributes 4.8 Million Mosquito Nets

The Bauchi State Government issued a warning to beneficiaries of the Insecticide-Treated Nets (ITNs) being distributed across the state, emphasizing that any diversion or misuse of the nets would lead to sanctions. This warning was articulated by Dr. Adamu Umar Sambo, Chairman of the Bauchi State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis/Leprosy and Malaria (BACATMA), during the flag-off of the distribution of 4.8 million ITNs at the Ahmadu Bello International Conference Centre in Bauchi.

Dr. Sambo confirmed that logistics for the distribution had been completed, with all nets transported to 1,903 distribution points across the 20 Local Government Areas. He urged local government chairmen and community stakeholders to ensure the nets reach intended beneficiaries and are used properly to combat malaria.

Additionally, he noted that BACATMA is collaborating with the Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency (BASEPA) to maintain monthly sanitation efforts. Dr. Sani Mohammed Dambam, Commissioner for Health and Social Welfare, reiterated the government's commitment to improving health services.
