Bayelsa Government Denies Blame on Tinubu for Poverty

The Bayelsa State government has denied accusations of shifting blame to President Bola Tinubu concerning the state's poverty rate. In a statement, Ebiuw Koku Obiyai, a representative of the government, described the report as false and misleading.

Governor Douye Diri's administration, which has been in power for six years, specifically refuted claims made by the People's Democratic Party (PDP) faction. The government emphasized that no official statement was issued to support the allegations and challenged media organizations to verify the claims.

The administration maintains a productive working relationship with President Bola Tinubu's federal government, asserting that the accusations are an attempt by the PDP faction to create a false narrative. The Bayelsa State government reiterated that it would not be distracted by what it termed baseless allegations.
