Bayelsa Governor Diri Commends Tinubu's LPG Initiative

Senator Douye Diri, the governor of Bayelsa State, commended President Bola Tinubu for the federal government's Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Penetration Initiative, which he described as a significant step towards enhancing the welfare of Nigerians. The initiative, launched on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall in Yenagoa, aims to distribute compressed gas cylinders to vulnerable Nigerians who have traditionally relied on firewood for cooking.

This program is expected to benefit at least 27,000 individuals in Bayelsa, marking the state as the first to implement the state-level rollout of the initiative. Governor Diri emphasized that the program represents a crucial shift in the federal government's strategy to ensure that oil and gas-producing communities also receive the advantages of cleaner energy.

He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu, the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, and development partners for their support, highlighting the initiative's alignment with Bayelsa's goal of improving residents' quality of life and reducing environmental degradation.
