OK Movement Condemns Attack on Peter Obi in Benue

The OK Movement, a political platform supporting Peter Obi and his running mate Rabiu Kwankwaso of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), condemned the attack on Obi during his visit to Benue State. John Ughulu, the National Director General of the OK Movement, stated that their decision not to retaliate was an act of leadership and responsibility, emphasizing that restraint should not be interpreted as weakness.

The movement asserted that every political leader has the constitutional right to campaign across Nigeria without facing intimidation or violence. They expressed that their security personnel acted with restraint to prevent escalation and warned against any attempts to exploit their patience.

The OK Movement called for an investigation into the incident, urging security agencies to prosecute those responsible, regardless of their political affiliation. They highlighted that such attacks threaten democratic values and political tolerance, reiterating that political thuggery has no place in a democratic society.
