OK Movement Explains Restraint During Obi's Convoy Blockade

The OK Movement, which supports the joint ticket of Peter Obi and Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), addressed the blockade of Obi's convoy during his visit to Benue State. John Ughulu, the director-general and founder of the OK Movement, stated that their security personnel chose not to retaliate to avoid escalating the situation into violence.

He emphasized that this decision was a deliberate act of leadership and responsibility, asserting that restraint should not be seen as weakness. Ughulu affirmed that Obi has a constitutional right to campaign across Nigeria and condemned any attempts to intimidate or obstruct political movements.

He warned that if provocations continued, the OK Movement would take lawful measures to protect its members. Ughulu called for an impartial investigation into the incident and urged security agencies to address the disruption of legitimate political activities.
