Benue State Progresses Under Governor Hyacinth Alia

Tersoo Kula, the Chief Press Secretary to Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, asserted that Benue State has moved beyond the "days of locust" experienced under former Governor Samuel Ortom. Kula's statement emphasized significant progress made under Alia's leadership, contrasting it with the alleged neglect and poor governance during Ortom's administration.

He claimed that the previous administration left behind a debt of approximately N300 billion at the state level and N100 billion in local government liabilities. Kula accused Ortom's administration of relying heavily on propaganda rather than providing practical solutions to the state's challenges.

Under Alia's leadership, the current administration has focused on improving worker welfare, ensuring regular salary payments, and embarking on infrastructure development projects, including the construction of 40 intra-city roads and the installation of solar streetlights. Kula also mentioned that the people of Benue State recognize the differences in leadership and progress made under the current administration.
