Benue Governor Alia Supports Establishment of 5 Division

On Wednesday, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Governor of Benue State, assured the Nigerian Army of his administration's full support for the establishment of the newly approved military formations in the state, particularly the 5 Division headquarters. This commitment was made during a meeting with a delegation from the Army Headquarters Implementation Committee at the Old Banquet Hall, Government House, Makurdi.

Governor Alia emphasized that the establishment of the 5 Division is a significant step towards enhancing security in Benue, aiming to strengthen the state's security architecture and restore public confidence. He pledged that the state government would provide land for all approved formations and units, as well as the necessary logistics for the division's smooth take-off.

Alia expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the formations and locating the 5 Division headquarters in Benue, acknowledging the long-standing need for a stronger military presence due to ongoing security challenges.
