Gombe Governor Supports New Army Formations' Operations

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya assured the Nigerian Army of his administration's commitment to facilitating the prompt operational commencement of the newly created Army formations in the state, specifically the 271 Battalion in Bajoga and the 272 Battalion in Kaltungo. This assurance was made during a courtesy visit to the Mai Kaltungo, Engr. Saleh Mohammadu, where the Governor was represented by the Secretary to the Gombe State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi.

He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the establishment of these battalions, emphasizing their importance for peace and security in a region affected by insurgency. Colonel S.O.

Bike, representing the General Officer Commanding of the 3rd Armoured Division, explained that the new formations are part of the Nigerian Army's expansion from 8 to 12 Divisions. The team inspected facilities for the 272 Tank Battalion and expressed satisfaction with the temporary site secured by the Mai Kaltungo and his community.
