Benue NUJ Calls for Sanction Against CPS Tersoo Kula

The Benue State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has passed a vote of no confidence in Tersoo Kula, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Hyacinth Alia, due to allegations of misconduct and disrespect towards the union. The decision was made during a congress led by Comrade Bemdoo Ugber in Makurdi.

The NUJ accused Kula of sidelining Benue-based journalists and monopolizing resources meant for the wider media community. A communiqué signed by Terhemen Ater Tsavbe, the NUJ chairman, emphasized the need for respect and collaboration within the media profession.

The union appealed to Governor Alia to intervene to promote peace and unity within the state's media landscape. Additionally, the NUJ congratulated Alia on his APC governorship primary win and called for the state government to address challenges faced by local media organizations, including the distribution of farm inputs and the revival of bursary payments for Benue indigenes in tertiary institutions.
