Student Arrested for Pouring Hot Water on Colleague

The Police in Benue State arrested a 500-level student of Fr Moses Adasu University, formerly known as Benue State University, for allegedly attacking a fellow student by pouring hot water mixed with salt and pepper on her. The incident occurred on Friday, August 28, 2026, when both students, who were reportedly sharing a room, had a disagreement.

According to the spokesperson for the state command, DSP Peter Aondongu, the suspect locked the victim inside after the attack. Bystanders later intervened, rescuing the victim, who was then taken to the hospital for treatment.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the altercation, although details regarding the genesis of the disagreement remain unclear. Both individuals involved are students of the same university.
