BIC Launches 7th Art Master Africa Contest with $2,000 Prize

BIC has launched the 7th Art Master Africa Contest, inviting young artists across Africa to submit original works that reflect personal stories and cultural identities, interpreting the theme "Tomorrow" using BIC Cristal ballpoint pens. The contest, which runs from April 21 to July 20, 2026, offers a $2,000 prize, mentorship, and global exposure for the winner, who will be announced later in the year.

Gregori Alibaux, the Market Director for the Middle East and Africa, emphasized the competition's role in providing a platform for young artists to express themselves and gain international recognition. Since its inception in 2017, the biannual contest has evolved into a significant creative platform in Africa, attracting 6,000 submissions from 2,500 artists across 52 countries in the 2024 edition.

Notably, Nigerian hyper-realistic portrait artist Oscar Ukonu returns as a judge for the second time, highlighting the contest's commitment to nurturing talent in the industry.
