BOA Launches Input Distribution for 10,000 Hectares in Katsina

The Bank of Agriculture (BOA) has initiated its wet season input distribution program in Katsina State, aiming to support smallholder farmers across 10,000 hectares. This initiative, launched on a Friday, is part of a broader plan to assist 1,000 farmer cooperatives in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.
Each participating farmer will receive four bags of NPK fertilizer and two bags of urea. The program is designed to enhance access to affordable agricultural inputs and modernize agricultural delivery systems.
Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda and Professor Abdulhamid Mani emphasized the importance of this initiative for strengthening agricultural productivity and food security. Ayo Sotinrin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BOA, described the program as a smarter approach to delivering agricultural interventions.
The nationwide rollout aims to support 500,000 smallholder farmers across 20 states, with an expected cultivation of 520,000 hectares, generating an estimated 2.6 million tons of additional food.
