BOA Launches Input Program for 10,000 Hectares in Katsina

The Bank of Agriculture (BOA) has initiated a program in Katsina State aimed at supporting smallholder farmers across 10,000 hectares. The program, launched in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, will provide each participating farmer with four bags of NPK fertilizer and two bags of urea.

The flag-off event was attended by 150 farmers, representing beneficiaries of this nationwide input distribution initiative. The program is designed to enhance access to affordable agricultural inputs and modernize the agricultural delivery system.

Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda and Professor Abdulhamid Mani emphasized the importance of this initiative for strengthening agricultural productivity and food security. Ayo Sotinrin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BOA, described the program as a smarter approach to delivering agricultural interventions.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to support 500,000 smallholder farmers across 20 states, aiming to cultivate 520,000 hectares and generate an estimated 2.6 million tons of additional food.
