Katsina Farmers Praise FG for Seed and Fertilizer Support

The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) in Katsina State has commended the federal government for its distribution of subsidized fertilizer and improved seeds, which has positively impacted over 300,000 members of the association. Umar Yau Gwajo-Gwajo, the chairman of AFAN in Katsina, stated that this intervention is unprecedented and will significantly reduce farming costs amid rising agricultural input prices.

He emphasized that access to these resources would encourage farmers to cultivate larger areas of land during the current farming season. Gwajo-Gwajo expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration for this support, describing it as a morale booster for farmers and a crucial factor in enhancing food production nationwide.

Additionally, he acknowledged the Katsina State government's efforts under Governor Dikko Umar Radda, which include providing tractors, fertilizer, improved seeds, solar-powered water pumping machines, and threshers to further enhance agricultural productivity.
