BON Launches Committees to Revitalize Broadcast Industry

On October 26, 2026, the Broadcast Organization of Nigeria (BON), under the leadership of Chairman Toni Akiotu, inaugurated six ad hoc committees to enhance the Nigerian broadcast industry. This initiative aims to address industry challenges through innovation, collaboration, and capacity building.

Akiotu emphasized that the committees are crucial for strengthening BON's operations and ensuring that the organization plays a significant role in shaping Nigeria's broadcast media landscape. The committees will provide a platform for exchanging ideas among BON members and experienced broadcast professionals.

Each committee is expected to submit an interim report within three months and implement approved recommendations within six months, serving a tenure of 12 months, subject to extension if necessary. Akiotu expressed confidence that the work of these committees would promote sustainable growth and enhance the overall development of Nigeria's broadcast sector.
