Borno State Allocates N2.5bn for Isaac Balami University Fees

On a recent occasion, Borno State Governor Zulum presented a cheque of N2.5 billion for the annual school fees of students at Isaac Balami University during a ceremony held at the Government House in Maiduguri. He commended the university's founder, Isaac Balami, for his commitment to education and announced a scholarship initiative that will benefit 54 indigenous students from the state.

Governor Zulum directed that vulnerable students be considered for additional support and emphasized the importance of dedication to studies. He also announced a financial assistance program of N500,000 to help students with resumption expenses, with immediate disbursement of funds.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilb, reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that scholarship programs become a reality, noting that 3,000 applications were received statewide, with 1,200 shortlisted for written examinations.

The initiative aims to produce highly skilled professionals who will contribute meaningfully to the state and nation.
