Boxers Gear Up for 'Fight for Liberty' at National Stadium

The 'Fight for Liberty' boxing event is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, at the National Stadium in Surulere, featuring 11 sanctioned fights under the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC). NBBofC President Rafiu Oladipo praised the event organizers, particularly Miyen Akiri, for their loyalty to the board.

During a press conference, Oladipo and NBBofC Vice President Prince Adetoy Olofin emphasized the board's commitment to promoting boxing in Nigeria. Secretary General Remi Aboderin noted the honor of hosting the event and assured fans of an exciting night.

The World Boxing Board (WBB) has sent a championship belt for the event, showcasing the recognition of the NBBofC's relationship with the WBB. The fight card includes notable matchups such as Olanrewaju Durodola against Sodiq Akano in an eight-round cruiserweight bout, and Samson Kazeem facing Anselm Gnansingb in a ten-round heavyweight main event.
