BPP and DICON Partner to Enhance Local Defense Manufacturing

The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) have established a structured partnership aimed at enhancing local defense manufacturing. This initiative is part of the Federal Government’s ‘Nigeria First’ policy, which seeks to boost domestic defense investments and promote national self-reliance in the defense and security sectors.

The announcement was made by BPP’s Assistant Chief Information Officer, Ngozi Anyaelezu, in Abuja on Friday. The partnership was a key focus during a courtesy visit by DICON's Director-General, Maj.-Gen. Babatunde Alaya, to the BPP's Director-General, Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, on Thursday.

This collaboration is expected to strengthen local military manufacturing capabilities and foster greater investment in Nigeria's defense industry.
