Nigeria Advances Military Production with DICON-D7G

Nigeria is advancing its military-industrial base with the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria–D7G (DICON-D7G) working on local production lines for armoured vehicles and anti-drone systems. This initiative is in collaboration with Eagles International for Defence Systems and aims to enhance technology transfer, expand domestic manufacturing, and create hundreds of jobs, thereby reducing Nigeria's dependence on imported military equipment.

A two-day inspection tour of factories and military production facilities in Cairo was conducted by the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle, and his delegation to assess the equipment and production systems that will support Nigeria's defence manufacturing objectives. Mr Osman Chennar, CEO of DICON-D7G, stated that the partnership is expected to create employment for over 200 workers and provide opportunities for approximately 100 retired military personnel.

The arrangement will establish production lines to facilitate the transfer of advanced military technologies to Nigeria, enabling the country to manufacture a wider range of equipment for its armed forces and potentially supply other African markets.
