BPP and ICPC Praise Delta State for Transparency Efforts

On Wednesday, during a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon.

Sheriff Oborevwori, representatives from the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) commended Delta State for its commitment to transparency and accountability. Dr.

Adebowale Adedokun, the BPP Director General, noted that Delta State is a trailblazer among sub-national governments for voluntarily subjecting itself to external peer reviews. The ICPC conducted a peer review, which demonstrated confidence in the state's governance structure aligning with global best practices in public accountability.

Dr. Adedokun emphasized the importance of resource management at the state level to alleviate pressure on the federal government and enable a greater focus on national priorities.

Deputy Governor Sir Mondai Onyem welcomed the visitors and reiterated Delta State's commitment to value for money and quality project execution, assuring that the state would partner with BPP and ICPC to enhance governance and resource utilization.
