40 Teams Set for 3rd Spires 5-Aside Championship

The 3rd Spires 5-Aside Championship is scheduled to commence on Saturday, April 11, featuring 40 teams competing across five divisions in Lagos. Brazilian teams have shown interest in the tournament, which aims to provide players with potential contracts with clubs in Europe.

The tournament will include various teams such as Loverboi FC, Dolphin FC, JS Sport FA, Alpha FC, and many others, with matches taking place in different divisions including Ikeja and Badagry. The draw ceremony was attended by chairmen representing their respective divisions, and Dr.

Bankol Allibai, a representative of the tournament, highlighted the event's goal to expand opportunities for players beyond Nigeria. The tournament is part of the Naija Street Soccer Division's initiative to promote grassroots soccer and will culminate in a state championship later in the year.
