Spires 5-Aside Opens Registration for Season 3

Spires 5-Aside has officially opened registration for its third season, with qualifiers scheduled to commence in April 2026 across five divisions in Lagos State. The tournament, organized in collaboration with the Lagos State Football Association and the Division Football Association, aims to empower players beyond the pitch.

Registration is available through the official website starting from February 18, 2026. Notably, the age restriction for participants has been lifted, allowing players aged 19 and above to compete.

The initiative will also introduce technology-driven training programs, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, coding, and graphic design, to enhance players' skills outside of football. Dr.

Bankol Alibai remarked on the tournament's potential for success, emphasizing the goal to surpass previous editions. Additionally, there are calls for corporate brands to support the event, which has been self-funded since its inception.

The previous champion, Lagos Island-based club White Tiger, received a sum of N5 million in the 2025 edition.
