Spires 5-A-Side Tournament Season 3 Kicks Off in Lagos

The Spires 5-A-Side Naija Street Soccer Tournament Season 3 officially began in Lagos, with a media briefing conducted on February 17th at the Spires Media headquarters in Victoria Island. The event aims to unveil the roadmap for this year's tournament, which will include stakeholder workshops and qualification rounds across five divisions in Lagos, set to kick off in the second quarter of the year.

Dr. Bankol Allibai, the tournament organizer, emphasized significant changes aimed at improving the quality of competition.

The first media briefing was intended to inform the public about adjustments in team registration. In the previous season, the Lagos-based club White Tiger emerged as the champion, defeating Papa SA Football Club 4-0 in the final held at the Suruler Sports Center.

White Tiger, coached by Emmanuel Olom, retained their crown from 2024 and received a prize of N5 million, while Papa SA received N3 million as the runner-up.
