Court Remands Omoyele Sowore at Kuje Correctional Centre

Omoyele Sowore, the president of the African Action Congress (AAC), has been ordered to be remanded at Kuje Correctional Centre by the Federal High Court Abuja. This ruling was made by Justice Moham Umar, who dismissed Sowore's application seeking the recusal of the judge from the case.

The matter has been adjourned until June 24 for the hearing of a motion to stay the order of remand. Sowore's bail was previously revoked on June 16 due to his failure to appear in court for trial.

The judge ruled on an oral application made by Sowore's lawyer, who is now Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, SAN. Additionally, a bench warrant for Sowore's arrest was issued by the court following the failure to appear.
