Yari Appointed DG for Tinubu's 2027 Campaign Council

Abdulaziz Yari, the senator representing Zamfara West and former governor of the state, has been appointed as the director-general of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027. Yari expressed his acceptance of the role with "deep gratitude" and "full seriousness" in a statement made on Saturday, August 22.

He framed the upcoming campaign as more than a typical electoral contest, emphasizing the importance of engaging directly with Nigerians across the country regarding their future. Yari called on APC members and supporters to begin preparations immediately and invited non-party Nigerians to support Tinubu's re-election based on performance rather than political affiliation.

The APC also announced a 108-member presidential campaign council on the same day, with Tinubu as chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda as vice-chairman, and Hope Uzodimma as secretary, among other appointments.
