APC Withdraws Petition Against Adeleke's Re-election

On September 8, 2026, the All Progressives Congress (APC) withdrew its petition challenging the re-election of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, which had been filed the previous day at the Osun Governorship Election Petition Tribunal. The petition, numbered EPT/OS/GOV/01/2026, was submitted on September 7, 2026, by Barr Oluseyi Oyagbile, who represented the party alongside its deputy governorship candidate, Engr Kayode Adereti, on behalf of governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji.

The withdrawal followed a public statement from a separate APC legal team led by Abiodun Layonu, which distanced the party from the petition and stated that the APC had no intention of challenging the election results. Barr Oyagbile confirmed the withdrawal, stating that APC leaders contacted him to drop the case and requested written confirmation via WhatsApp to avoid future disputes.

With the APC's petition now withdrawn, only the Peoples Democratic Party's petition, numbered EPT/OS/GOV/02/2026, remains before the tribunal.
