BREAKING: Babachir Lawal Visited Me, Felt Betrayed After Tinubu Picked Shettima as VP – Wike

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, expressed his disappointment after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu chose Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2023 elections, according to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Wike revealed in an interview with Channels Television that Lawal visited his residence in Port Harcourt shortly after the announcement was made and was visibly upset.

Lawal had expected Tinubu to choose him as the vice president. Lawal, a strong critic of the administration, had previously claimed that Tinubu would not win the 2023 election.

He also expressed his belief that if he had been appointed to Tinubu's cabinet, the government would have made mistakes and possibly been sacked or resigned. Lawal emphasized that he felt offended by Tinubu's decision but still believed that Tinubu would not win the election.
