Court to Rule on APC Reps Candidate Suit October 26, 2026

A court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, has adjourned to Monday, October 26, 2026, to deliver its ruling on a legal dispute concerning the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Afijio/Atiba/Oyo East/Oyo West Federal Constituency, ahead of the 2027 general elections. The case, numbered FHC/IB/CS/64/2026, involves Wakil Oyeleru Oyedemi as the plaintiff against the APC, Akeem Adeyemi, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the first, second, and third defendants, respectively.

Oyedemi seeks an order to nullify the APC primary held in Oyo Federal Constituency, claiming it did not adhere to the Electoral Act 2026 or the party's internal guidelines. During the proceedings, all parties were absent but represented by counsel, including Musibau Adetunbi for the plaintiff and Ibrahim Bawa (SAN) for the APC.

The judge, Justice Nkeonye Evelyn Maha, has scheduled the ruling for October 26, 2026, after hearing arguments from all legal representatives.
