Gbolagad Challenges APC Primary Results in Court

Hon. Abiodun Gbolagad, an aspirant for the House of Representatives from the All Progressives Congress (APC), has initiated legal proceedings at the Federal High Court to contest the party's decision regarding the primary election for the Oyo State constituency.

Gbolagad claims he won the primary election, which was conducted using a direct primary option as per the Electoral Act and party guidelines. He alleges that the results declared by the party were incorrect, stating that he received 2,315 votes while Akand only garnered 33 votes.

Gbolagad expressed confidence in the judiciary's ability to resolve the dispute, dismissing any speculation regarding his support for defecting to another political party. He emphasized that the matter is now in court, having already been filed for hearing, and he believes it is essential to follow the rule of law rather than resorting to self-help.
