Court Denies Bail to Alleged Fake Agency Director

In Abuja, Justice Obiora Egwuatu ruled against granting bail to Adeniyi Adeyemi, who is alleged to be the Director-General of the fraudulent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). The ruling was made on Thursday while considering an ex-parte motion from Adeyemi's counsel, M.B.

Abdulazeez. The judge stated that granting bail without hearing from the police would violate fair hearing principles.

Adeyemi filed a civil suit against several respondents, including the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police, seeking multiple reliefs, including bail and access to medical care. Justice Egwuatu allowed Adeyemi access to his legal representatives but declined to rule on five other requests.

The court set a hearing for September 9 for the respondents to explain why the remaining reliefs should not be granted. Additionally, Adeyemi is charged with forgery and impersonation in a separate criminal case, with an arraignment scheduled for September 30.
