Court Orders Omoyele Sowore's Detention in Kuje

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has been ordered to be detained at Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja by Justice Moham Umar. This ruling follows the revocation of his bail due to his failure to appear in court for his trial.

The court had previously issued a bench warrant for his arrest. Sowore arrived at the court with a bag pack and spoke to newsmen, indicating that he was aware of the court's order for his detention.

The Department of State Services (DSS) had issued the bench warrant against Sowore, who is accused of making false claims against President Bola Tinubu. The allegations stem from a criminal post made on his Facebook account.
