Fire Erupts in Senate Wing of National Assembly, Abuja

On Wednesday, a fire incident occurred in the Senate wing of the National Assembly in Abuja, leading to mild panic among staff members. The fire reportedly broke out shortly after the conclusion of a Senate committee meeting on Niger Delta development, which involved Dr. Zainab Marwa's nomination to represent the North East on the commission's board.

Staff members were seen attempting to contain the flames with fire extinguishers. The fire was allegedly triggered by a microwave left on in the kitchen area.

Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported as a result of the incident. Journalists covering the activities at the National Assembly were reportedly instructed to delete any photos or videos taken during the fire outbreak.
