Fire Destroys NLC Secretariat in Sokoto, Causes Total Loss

On Saturday, around 3:00 AM, a fire broke out at the NLC secretariat in Sokoto, resulting in the complete destruction of the office. Hamisu Hussaini, the state secretary of the NLC, reported that the fire was suspected to have been triggered by an electrical fault.

The inferno consumed essential office equipment, including computers, printers, refrigerators, televisions, furniture, and vital documents accumulated over a span of 30 years. A security guard on duty noted that the fire spread rapidly across the building, and firefighters arrived approximately one hour later to extinguish the blaze.

Unfortunately, no items were recovered from the office, and the council is mourning the loss. Efforts are expected to begin toward rebuilding the secretariat following this devastating incident.
