Akpabio Threatens Legal Action Over Assembly Renovation Issues

On Wednesday during a plenary session, Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, expressed his dissatisfaction with ongoing technical faults affecting microphones in the Senate chamber, which hindered contributions to debates. He labeled the situation an embarrassment for the National Assembly and urged the Senate to take note of the recurring issues.

Akpabio warned that he intends to take legal action against the contractor responsible for the renovation of the House of Representatives, which he stated had also faced similar problems. He emphasized that the contractor's handling of the renovations was inadequate and that the Senate would take steps to ensure that the job is done correctly.

Akpabio's remarks came after the House of Representatives faced embarrassment due to the malfunctioning equipment, and he indicated that action would be taken to address the persistent technical issues.
