Nigeria Police Force to Resume Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement for Security Reasons

The Nigeria Police Force has announced the resumption of enforcing tinted glass permits effective January 2, 2026, citing the need to address rising criminal activities aided by vehicles with unauthorized tinted glass. The decision, signed by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, emphasizes the urgency to safeguard communities through proactive measures.

The enforcement was temporarily suspended to allow motorists time to regularize their documents. However, recent security concerns have prompted the police to resume full enforcement to combat crimes like armed robbery, kidnapping, and violent activities.
