Nigeria Police Suspend Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement Amid Legal Challenge

The Nigeria Police Force has suspended the enforcement of vehicle tinted glass permits following a court order halting the exercise. This decision came after the FCT Police Command received a court directive amidst an ongoing legal challenge.

The policy, initially introduced for security reasons, faced criticism for allegedly being financially motivated. The police clarified that payments for tinted glass permits go directly to the Federal Government's Treasury Single Account, emphasizing that the policy aims to enhance security by preventing criminal elements from using vehicles with darkened windows to commit offenses.

The suspension will remain in effect until the court delivers a final verdict on the matter.
