PDP Faction Names Sandy Onor as Presidential Candidate

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) faction led by Abdulrahman Moham announced Sandy Onor as its consensus presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections. This decision was made on Tuesday during a meeting chaired by former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, who is also the chairman of the PDP presidential primary collating committee.

The process involved consultations and a voice vote among party members across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Sandy Onor emerged as the sole presidential aspirant after declaring his intent to contest and purchasing the nomination form earlier in the month.

Following the consensus decision, Ortom presented Onor as the PDP faction's presidential candidate, and the party leadership, led by National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, officially returned the party's flag to Onor. The exercise was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission, including Abdullahi Zuru and Prof.
