Sandy Onor Enters Presidential Race with PDP Nomination

Sandy Onor, a former senator for Cross River Central, has officially joined the presidential race by acquiring the People's Democratic Party (PDP) nomination form for N50 million and an additional N1 million express interest form. His candidacy is supported by Nyesom Wike, a prominent figure within the PDP.

Onor, who served in the 9th Senate, expressed his determination to pursue the presidency, stating that he will not be deterred by the political landscape, including the support for Bola Tinubu's presidency. He acknowledged the recent Supreme Court judgment urging former President Goodluck Jonathan to accept defeat in the 2015 general elections.

Onor's announcement comes amid calls from the PDP's national chairman, Abdulrahman Moha, for aggrieved members to return to the mainstream party leadership. The PDP maintains that no Nigerian should be denied the opportunity to contest for electoral positions in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
