PDP Youth Leader Jamilu Ali Kalshingi Resigns

Jamilu Ali Kalshingi, the Youth Leader of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), submitted his resignation letter on August 31, 2026, to the Chairman of the Bolari West Ward, Gombe LGA. The resignation took effect immediately and was made public on September 5.

In his letter, Kalshingi expressed gratitude for his tenure, stating it was an honor to serve as State Youth Leader and highlighting the achievements made for the youth in Gombe State. He assured supporters of his commitment to the development of Gombe State despite leaving the PDP, although he did not disclose his future political plans.

His resignation follows the departure of former PDP National Treasurer Ahmed Yayari, who joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and aligned with their governorship candidate, Dr Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna. These resignations reflect increasing pressure on the PDP in Gombe State as the 2027 general elections approach.
