Oyo Police Rescue Abducted Headmaster Mr. Owoad Mathew

The Oyo State Police Command confirmed the safe release of 60-year-old headmaster Mr. Owoad Mathew, who was kidnapped by gunmen on July 12, 2026, along the Igbojay-Budo Aar bush road.

The police announced his release on July 13, 2026, following immediate deployment and coordination of joint security operations aimed at sustaining investigative efforts. DSP Olayinka Ayanlad stated that the victim was taken to a medical facility for necessary evaluation and treatment.

The police command is committed to ongoing investigations to identify, apprehend, and prosecute those responsible for the kidnapping. CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga expressed appreciation for the unwavering support and cooperation from security agencies and community members during the operation.
