NUT Demands Immediate Rescue of Abducted Oyo Headmaster

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has raised alarm over the abduction of M.K. Owoad, a headmaster at Nomad Basic School in Ogodu Igbojay, who was kidnapped by gunmen on Saturday at approximately 5 PM while working on a farm in Itesiwaju Local Government Area, Oyo State.

The union's chairman, Fatai Hassan, and secretary, Salami Olukayode, issued a statement urging immediate action for Owoad's rescue. They described the incident as disturbing and highlighted the increasing security challenges faced by teachers and educational workers across Nigeria.

The NUT called on the federal government, Oyo State government, and relevant security agencies to intensify efforts to secure Owoad's release and enhance security in schools and communities. The union expressed solidarity with Owoad's family, colleagues, and pupils, praying for his safe return and advising teachers in the state to remain vigilant due to the prevailing security situation.
