Nigeria Launches "Hire from Nigeria" Campaign for Jobs

The Nigerian government has initiated a campaign named "Hire from Nigeria," aimed at marketing Nigeria as a source of skilled professionals and digital services for global employers. Announced by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a press conference at Radio House, Abuja, on August 31, this initiative is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

The campaign seeks to create one million export-linked jobs and involves collaboration between the Federal Ministries of Industry, Trade and Investment, NATEP, iDICE, and private-sector partners. Olajumoke Dan-Okayi, Senior Special Assistant on Strategic Communications and NATEP, emphasized that the initiative addresses access issues rather than a talent shortage.

Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Trade and Investment, stated that the campaign will be showcased at the 81st United Nations General Assembly. Education Minister Dr. Maruf Tunji mentioned ongoing efforts to prepare Nigerians for global job demands through curriculum reforms and vocational training.
