Tinubu Orders ICPC to Investigate Fake Presidential Agency

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to conduct a comprehensive investigation into a fraudulent entity that falsely claims to be the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. This directive follows the discovery that the agency was established without legal authority and has allegedly been operating under false pretenses.

The investigation, expected to conclude within 30 days, will focus on allegations of impersonation, forgery, and abuse of government identity. The ICPC will trace the source of funds linked to these activities and determine the involvement of public officials and private individuals.

The investigation will also assess whether the individuals involved, including Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, have opened multiple bank accounts using forged documents. Tinubu has instructed relevant federal agencies to assist the ICPC in its efforts and emphasized the need for urgent measures to prevent similar abuses in the future.
