Tinubu Orders ICPC Probe Into Fake Presidential Council

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to conduct a thorough investigation into a fraudulent organization known as the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, which was allegedly created without legal backing or presidential approval. The ICPC has been given a 30-day deadline to complete its investigation and submit a comprehensive report.

The investigation follows the discovery that individuals, including Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, falsely claimed to be appointed by the president and used forged documents to obtain official recognition and facilitate various illegal activities, including opening multiple bank accounts. President Tinubu has instructed the ICPC to identify weaknesses in government procedures that may have been exploited and to recommend measures to prevent future occurrences.

He emphasized the need for integrity within federal institutions to protect against impersonation and fraudulent practices, stating that anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law.
