Family of Slain Oyo Teacher Appeals for Body Recovery

The family of Michael Olugbad Oyedokun, a teacher killed during a kidnapping incident in Oyo State, has made a heartfelt appeal to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde to facilitate the recovery of his body for a dignified burial. In an open letter, the Oyedokun family expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, and other security agencies that successfully rescued a pupil and another teacher after nearly two months of captivity.

However, they lament the unresolved status of Oyedokun's remains, which have yet to be recovered. The family emphasized the prolonged grief caused by the absence of his body, which denies them closure and the opportunity to perform final rites in accordance with their faith and traditions.

They urged the government to intensify efforts to locate and recover Oyedokun's remains, highlighting the dignity of every Nigerian life, even in death.
