Bruno Fernandes Named 2026 PFA Player of the Year

Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, has been named the 2026 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Players’ Player of the Year. The announcement took place during the 53rd annual PFA Awards ceremony held at the Manchester Opera House in Manchester, United Kingdom, on Tuesday.

Fernandes received this prestigious honour after being voted the best player of the 2025/26 season by his fellow professionals. He triumphed over five other nominees, including Manchester City players Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki, and Arsenal players Declan Rice, David Raya, and Gabriel Magalhães.

The PFA Awards also recognized outstanding performances across various levels of English football, presenting a total of 74 awards. Other notable winners included Nico O’Reilly from Manchester City as the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year and Olivia Smith from Arsenal as the Women’s PFA Young Player of the Year.
